There are many smelting Facilities to be built in game. These Facilities turn items into different items, which you will need to progress in the game.
All Facilities can be set as 'Hearth', which allows all members of the same Hearth to to make items at that Facility. Setting an item to 'Hearth' grants user-level access to all Hearth members. That means all Hearth members can add materials, add fuel, and remove materials; they can not move, recall, or adjust permissions unless they are given admin-level access. This means that each Hearth only technically needs one of each Facility, though setting a Smelting Facility to Hearth does mean that players could steal from each other or, more likely, that the smelting Facility will already be in use when another player wants to use it.
When given the option, it is recommended to use Straw as a fuel source. It has less value than Coal or Wood, is easier than Coal to get in large amounts, and has much fewer other uses than Wood.

Output Notes[]
The Industrial Furnace gives more materials per input than the Personal Refining Furnace. Be aware of Tribe Tax, since that decreases how many materials the player gets from the output.
The Magic Furnace has an input/output of 2:1; it takes two Crystal or Obsidian Ore to get one Crystal or Obsidian, respectively.
